Vinyl Layer:

Adhesive Layer:

Underneath the vinyl layer, there is an adhesive layer that is activated when heat is applied. This adhesive is what bonds the printable HTV to the fabric surface during the transfer process. Carrier Sheet:

Release Liner:

The release liner is another protective layer, but it is located on the backside of the HTV, opposite the adhesive layer. This liner ensures that the vinyl remains stable and protected until it is ready to be cut and used.

Ink-Receptive Coating:

To ensure the best print quality, printable HTV features an ink-receptive coating on the vinyl side. This coating allows the ink from a compatible printer to adhere to the vinyl, creating vibrant and detailed images.

Manufacturing Process of Printable Heat Transfer Vinyl

The manufacturing process of printable heat transfer vinyl involves several intricate steps, each essential for creating a high-quality and customizable product:

Material Selection:

The process begins with the selection of high-quality vinyl. The vinyl must have the right balance of flexibility and durability to withstand the heat transfer process and adhere securely to fabrics.

Coating Application:

The vinyl is coated with a specialized ink-receptive coating. This coating is applied evenly to ensure that the vinyl can hold the ink from a compatible printer. The coating must dry and cure properly to maintain its effectiveness.

Adhesive Layer Application:

The adhesive layer is applied to the backside of the vinyl. This adhesive is carefully formulated to activate and bond to fabric when exposed to heat. The application process ensures an even and consistent layer to guarantee a strong bond.

Carrier Sheet and Release Liner Attachment:

The carrier sheet is attached to the adhesive side of the vinyl. Simultaneously, the release liner is attached to the back of the vinyl. These protective layers are essential to ensure that the printable HTV remains stable and protected throughout the manufacturing process.

Printing Compatibility:

Printable HTV is designed to be compatible with specific inkjet or eco-solvent printers. This ensures that the ink adheres correctly to the vinyl's ink-receptive coating.
